Childcare Approval Scheme
A new form of approval for those wanting their child to be cared for in their own home or, if the child is aged over 7, in other domestic premises.
Those wishing to seek approval have to go through a process that includes a criminal record check and they should also hold an appropriate childcare qualification. However, unlike other forms of childcare, approved childcarers will not be subject to regular inspections.
