Holiday Playschemes
Offer facilities and activities for children during school holidays. Some offer full day care for children of working parents; some only operate for a few hours each day. Some are linked to other forms of term-time provision.
Different schemes offer activities for different age ranges. Some cater for children of all ages (3-14); other may restrict activities to under 8’s or to older children. Costs will vary depending on the type of facilities/activities offered.
Schemes that offer full daycare to under 8’s must be registered and inspected by Ofsted; schemes offering shorter periods or care or who cater specifically for over 8’s may not need to register but would be expected to meet similar minimum standards.
