Playwork
Playworkers offer opportunities for children and young people aged 4-14 to plan and take part in a wide range of play-based activities in out-of-school clubs, breakfast clubs, playschemes or adventure playgroups. There are also opportunities for playworkers to work in hospitals as play specialists or as play therapists in a variety of settings.
Playwork job titles vary depending on the setting in which they are based - here are a few:
- Assistant Playworker
- Playworker/Playleader
- Play Development Officer
Alot of playwork is undertaken by volunteers but increasingly employers are looking for people with an appropriate qualification. To work as an assistant you would need a level 2 qualification, but the majority of playworkers need a level 3. Contact us for more details.
