Day Nurseries
Day nurseries provide care and education for children between the ages of 6 weeks and school age. A typical nursery opens between 8am and 6pm and will offer part-time or full-time places to suit the needs of individual families.
Walsall has approximately 30 Day nurseries situated throughout the Borough. All are registered and inspected by Ofsted and have to meet the National Daycare Standards. Some are also registered to provide free part-time early years education. Day nurseries may be run by voluntary organisations, private companies or individuals, and neighbourhood nurseries offer additional benefits to local residents.
Charges for care vary from nursery to nursery and it is important to find out what is included in the basic charge. However, you may be eligible for help with costs via the tax credit system or via your employer or training provider. Click here for more details.
Parents/carers with more than one child at the nursery or those living in some target areas may be offered discounts.
